God damn it, do I love rock and roll, but this is a scary time if you're like me and you're into the really pure stuff.
Thank goodness for bands like Gypsyhawk, who make absolutely no apologize for their big riffs, sizzling solos and huge hooks. They are the real deal!
These Pasadena, Calif. boys have been hitting it hard over the past few years, touring the land in support of their first two records, 2012's "Revelry and Resilience" and 2010's "Patience and Perseverance." Both records (on Metal Blade Records) are fantastic.
Enjoying a little time off the road while working on songs for their upcoming record, Gypsyhawk bassist and singer Eric Harris bestowed Sweet Phyllis with this gem: A playlist inspired by the thousands of miles Gypsyhawk has put in driving to your silly town just to melt your stupid face off!
You may find some surprising tunes on this one, which runs the gamut from outlaw country to modern pop to an outrageous hard rock track by the fucking Osmonds!
Stay tuned for a short interview with Harris in the coming days here at Sweet Phyllis.
